Okay, finally, the new season of 24 (24 season 8) is  on air now, and so many 24 fans has been expecting this time for a so long time.

24 is an award-winning American serial action drama television series. Broadcast by Fox in the United States and syndicated worldwide, the show first aired on November 6, 2001, with an initial 13 episodes (the next 11 episodes were later ordered). 24 is the second longest-running espionage series in television history, behind the original Mission: Impossible series by number of episodes and The Avengers by longevity of broadcast.24 is presented in real time, with each season depicting a 24-hour period in the life of Jack Bauer, who works with the United States government as it fights domestic threats, taking place in a fictional war in the United States. Bauer is often in the field for the Los Angeles Counter Terrorist Unit as they try to safeguard the nation from terrorist threats.

The eighth season, 24 season 8 has been on air  since January 17, 2010.

Meanwhile, CTU decryptys the journalist’s laptop and finds the embedded material that shows the bombs placed inside UN. CTU thinks its real and gives the evacuation order for UN. By that time Jack convinces the NYPD officers, who arrested him, that hes from CTU. Jack says that there might be a possible attempt to bomb Omar’s convoy and the bomb scare inside UN might be a prank. Jack finally gets in touch with the CTU officer on field and asks him to stop Omar’s car somehow. The CTU officer races and dashes against Omar’s car saving him from the bomb placed under the manhole.

When four genius guy meet one scarce girl, what would happen to them?

A woman who moves into an apartment next door to two brilliant but socially awkward physicists ( plus two brilliant friends of them) shows them how little they know about life outside of the laboratory .  So many funny stories come out of that apartment. That’s the whole backgroud of The Big Bang Theory TV series.

This is a kind of brand new comic TV show, and I am totally attracted by it because I myself is also a researcher in science. Sure, not as brilliant as those four guys. Also sure, I am not socially awkward type.  Maybe, their story can only take place in TV shows, but it does bring us so many laughter.  And It always reminds me those hard but full of passion days when I was reading for my PHD.

The fifth season began airing on September 28, 2008, with the time period jumping 5 years after the previous season, with some flashbacks to events which happened between the two periods. One of the first mysteries revolves around Edie Britt’s new husband, Dave Williams, played by Neal McDonough. Dave is looking for revenge on someone on Wisteria Lane (later revealed to be Mike Delfino). Susan is dealing with being a single mother and a new romance. Bree and Orson are having marriage problems as she is so focused on her career. Gabrielle and Carlos are dealing with the stress of being parents while struggling with Juanita’s obesity problems, Carlos gets the news that his sight may soon return. Lynette and Tom learn that their son is having an affair with a married woman. Playing off of the disaster theme of the previous two seasons, a large-scale fire threatens to change all of their lives. While Carlos gets his sight back and accepts a new profession, Gabrielle has to struggle with their two daughters, Juanita and Celia.

This season featured the show’s 100th episode, revolving around Eli Scruggs (played by Beau Bridges) a handyman who had an important input in all of the ladies’ lives. This episode featured flashbacks and returning characters, such as Martha Huber and Rex Van de Kamp. The episode aired on ABC on Sunday, January 18, 2009.

Orson’s thieving only gets worse, especially when Mrs. McCluskey ID’s him as the burglar who broke into her house the previous night, and it leads to his arrest. Bree tries to arrange legal counsel for Orson, but soon discovers that Orson has blossomed into a full-on sociopath who expresses no guilt or remorse for his crimes, and is confident that he will be exonerated of all charges when Mrs. McCklusky may not be a reliable witness due to her senile memory. Meanwhile, Tom and Gabrielle square-off against one another over being the unemployed spouse, while Carlos saves Lynette after she falls and hits her head in the shower. Also, Dave continues to plan Katherine’s murder to make Mike suffer, but eventually realizes that he has been targeting the wrong person who was responsible for the car accident years earlier, and he now zeros in on his other target: Susan.

Past Peter is forced to look for allies and finds one in a very subdued version of Sylar. From his spot in Africa, Matt Parkman has a vision of his future in four years in which he is married to Speedster Daphne and is still looking after Molly Walker whom also works for the agencies. In the present, Hiro and Ando are locked away in a Level 2 prison cell where their situation starts to drive a riff between them. Hiro and Ando teleport to Africa to try to make contact with Usutu, the vision painter, for information on the persons behind all the recent events. Angela and the Company are paralyzed from recent events, and Noah Bennett is forced to team up with Sylar again to hunt down more escapees from Level 5. Peter goes to Pinehearst searching for answers, but is stunned to learn that his father, Arthur Petrelli, thought to be long dead, is the ringleader of the whole events, and who as the ability to physically absorb others powers by mere touch. Meanwhile, Claire and Sandra go on a mission to save Meredith from the clutches of Eric Doyle, a villain with abilities to control people mentally and physically. Meanwhile, Sylar is given the task by the comatose Angela to save Peter from the evil rival company, Pinehurst, when he captured and rendered powerless by his evil father. Also, Daphne is ordered by Knox and Mr. Petrelli to kill Matt, or be killed herself, but finds the task difficult as she begins falling in love with him as he predicted. In Africa, Hiro is still searching for answers from the spiritual painter onto who or what is behind Pinehurst and what their nefarious plans are for the world. In California, Elle approaches Claire and asks for her help to control her powers which leads to both of them forming an uneven alliance to venture to Pinehurst in New Jersey to find answers. Mr. Petrelli sends Knox and Flint out after Claire and Peter who try to find a way to outwit their pursuers. Matt Parkman tries to scan the comatose Angela Petrelli’s mind to try to save her and learns that Daphne is a double-agent assigned to watch over him and that Mr. Petrelli has something against her. While Suresh continues to unsuccessfully search for the secret to the formula to give people powers, Nathan and Tracy pay a visit to Pinehurst where they meet with the manipulative Arthur Petrelli who offers Nathan the world in exchange for his loyalties and help. Nathan declines, but Tracy, eager to gain more power in politics, accepts.

But everything changes when a prolonged solar eclipse happens, which renders the heroes and villains powerless, stranding Peter and Nathan in Haiti with the Hatian who is trying to capture the powerful Voodoo witchdoctor Baron Samedi. In Kansas, Parkman must find a way into the Millbrook house without his mind-reading powers, and learns what Daphine is without her super-speed powers. In California, the powerless Elle and Syler try to capture Clare, who accidentally gets shot, and Nathan seeks revenge.

Peter and the Hatian return to New York and are sent by Angela in desperate attempt to break into Pinehurst to kill Arthur Petrelli before he can complete the formula. Meanwhile, Ando, Parkman, and Daphne seek out a bicycle messenger who may have the last ’9th Wonders’ comic book works to learn more about the future and where Hiro is and what to do to save him. Elsewhere, Sylar goes rogue once again by disposing of Elle, and then decides to go after both the heroes and villains to steal their powers for himself.

In New Jersey, Syler takes refuge in the house of an agent and tries to get information to what’s going on. Also, Peter teams up with Tracy to look for help, while she begins having second thoughts about running.

Meanwhile, Nathan continues to lock horns with Danko over the hunter’s tactics to eliminate people with abilities, after he tries to frame Parkman for an attempted suicide bombing. This leads to both Nathan and Danko going behind each others back to unseat the other. Nathan becomes wary about Danko going rogue and the hunter interrogating Tracy, as well as Nathan’s mother, Angela, about Nathan’s own ability. In California, Claire takes Alex’s old job at the comic book store where she is given a message by ‘Rebel’ to help out her former nemesis, the puppet master Eric Doyle, when he too is targeted by rouge agents. Also, Hiro and Ando return to California where they are led by clue from Rebel… to an infant Matt Parkman.

While Parkman and Mohinder take Daphne to a nearby hospital for treatment, Tracy finally learns the identity of ‘Rebel’. N85 is really a great Nseries phone with so many special personality and almost covers all the special function of Nseries.

At last, Nokia finally released their much awaited touchscreen phone, the Nokia 5800 XpressMusic. We’ve heard of Nokia’s Tube phone before, their potential iPhone killer, and now, it’s already official and will be released worldwide during the fourth quarter of 2008. So, I got to see the prototype version of the Nokia 5800 XpressMusic during its launch so a word of warning to Nokia fans, this review has a few bashing against the phone so if you really don’t want to read that then kindly move along.

Design

The Nokia 5800 XpressMusic is again a full touchscreen phone with a 3.2 inch screen. It has three buttons at the bottom, the menu button and two soft keys flanking the menu button. The Nokia 5800 XpressMusic is a little bit on the thick side compared with the iPhone or the Omnia. The 5800 also has more curved edge compared with the other touch screen phones but that just gives it a bit mroe edge over the others in terms of design.

Features

Okay, so let’s get to work on this baby. Since it’s a touchscreen phone, most of you are probably wondering: does it beat the iPhone’s interface? Well, based on the prototype, sadly no. The screen was a bit unresponsive and you have to press the screen most of the time, twice, in order to get a command done. But with the other parts that do work, the screen seems responsive enough. Is it multitouch capable? Nope but you get to do all that cool swiping and flicking thingy like on the iPhone. I don’t think Nokia did a pretty good job making the Symbian S60 more touchscreen friendly. With the symbian menu screen, you scroll using the scroll bar on the side. It would have been nice if they added another swiping interface to get to the next page.
The Nokia 5800 XpressMusic comes with a stylus for handwriting recognition and some say that you can use it as a guitar pick because there’s a guitar game on the device but I wasn’t able to see that. EDIT: Sorry bout that, it seems that the Nokia 5800 XpressMusic has a plectrum which looks like a guitar pick that can also be used as an input option and it’s not the stylus that can be used as a guitar pick. I wasn’t able to get a look at the plectrum but you can use it for the upcoming Gameloft Guitar Rock Tour that will soon be released for the device.

The Nokia 5800 also has a 3.15 megapixel camera with Carl Zeiss optics. I wasn’t able to test the camera out since this was a prototype so the camera function doesn’t work as good as those in the commercial version but those looking for a cameraphone won’t have to worry as Nokia makes the best cameraphones amongst its competitors.

iPhone users who would want to convert to the Nokia Tube will probably like the fact that the Nokia 5800 XpressMusic offers haptic feedback. The QWERTY keyboard have big buttons and are easy to press but when you turn it sideways, the built in accelerometer will give you a landscape view and the QWERTY keyboard will take up most of the screen.

Of course, the Nokia 5800 XpressMusic is loaded with other goodies such as 3G/HSDPA, WiFi, Bluetooth with A2DP, GPS, TV-Out, Stereo FM Radio, and a 3.5mm audio jack. Unfortunately, Nokia didn’t feel the need to add a lot of internal memory on this device as some say it only has a measly 81MB of internal memory and you have to rely on the microSD slot to store your files.

Conclusion

Since this is Nokia’s first attempt at a touchscren device, I won’t bash it as much. Nokia needs to get back to the old drawing board and add more functionality to the Symbian S60 interface, and if they can make their touchscreen interface more seamless (maybe if they up the processor on the device, they say it only has a 369MHz ARM Processor and a 128MB of RAM) then it would be worthy of being called a true iPhone killer. But if they didn’t fix the unresponsiveness issues then they better expect a lot of returns during the first few weeks that the Nokia 5800 XpressMusic will be released.
